Artisanal Dates Jam. Don Gastronom slow-cooks whole dates down to a thick, deeply sweet spread, using the same small-batch methods as the rest of its jam range.
Preparation and Texture: Dates need very little added sugar to set into a jam, since they're naturally dense in their own sweetness. The result is a rich, almost caramel-like spread with a smooth, spoonable texture.
Serving Suggestion: An excellent match for a strong blue cheese or an aged Manchego, where the sweetness balances the sharpness. Also good stirred into porridge or spread over dark rye bread.
